BIG BROTHER 2011 - FIXED???
You are probably here due to one of 2 reasons. You are either disgusted at the result of the winner of BB2011 or you are here to see what all of the fuss is about.
WAS BIG BROTHER 2011 FIXED?
From the moment the winner of big brother 2011 was announced you could here the chants of FIX in the crowd outside and also the boo's were echoing all around. Never on channel 4 was the outside crowd so out of touch with the public consensus. So what did channel 5 do different? The answer is nothing! apart from a house with more fancy things inside and a fancier set up in the studio. The crowd outside were the same general public as it has always been. It can be left open to discussion as to why they had a different feeling towards Aaron than the 'so called majority' of voters. Or Did they????
THE BOOKMAKERS - IS THE BB BETTING WORLD SQUEAKY CLEAN?
A few years back Juventus were the biggest football club in the world, a club with millions of worldwide supporters and fans, a multi miilion pound football club. Never in a million years would anybody have thought that in this day and age such a high profile football team could be accused of throwing matches in return for sums of money in a very dodgy betting ring. Well they did and they were demoted down a league and heavily fined as well as disgraced. More recently some pakistani cricketers were caught out in their part in a dodgy betting ring as well as the 'squeaky clean' snooker player John Higgins, in the future more people will undoubtedly be caught out too!! The point is that dodgy betting rings do exist in high public events.
Aaron at one point in Big Brother was pretty high odds to win, I believe that you could have got anything from 22-1 to 25-1 for him to win, the bookmakers do not have any info on the amount of votes that have been coming in for the contestants and generally go with the public consensus combined with the amount of money being placed on a person in order to come up with the odds.
Aaron was backed in to around 5/2 for the last month of the show, so either people were throwing mad amounts of money on him all over or the bookmakers found out that everybody loved him. Neither of which I can imagine! Alex remained a strong constant favourite in the last couple of months. If you know about betting you may know that when a favourite wins then the bookmakers lose a lot of money! With the amount of forums and things going up about the result being a fix, why has nobody ordered a report of the betting patterns on Big Brother??
COULD IT BE FACEBOOK VOTING?
BB2011 Introduced the Facebook vote at 7p per vote! So if you put £1 on then you can vote for your winner 14 times, if you put £10 on you could vote 142 times!! Now imagine if you put a £10,000 bet on Arron to win at 20-1, you would stand to win £200,000, each time Aaron was up for eviction you could put £10,000 of Facebook credits on him which would total 9999 votes which would guarantee his safety really, you would be looking at a profit of around £100,000 at the end of it when he wins! I am not saying that this is what has happened, but if a few people with money got their heads together then they would stand to make a lot of easy money.
COULD BIG BROTHER HAVE FIXED IT AND WHY?
Big Brother has been on a steady decline for years which is why channel 4 gave it up, channel 5 decided to take it on and try and pump some life into it. Early viewing figures where not great, so what did they do? they got people talking. They grew their first relationship by giving Faye the choice of a date between Jay and Aaron, she pondered and picked Aaron which turned out great for the show as it gave them a huffy, stroppy and controversial character, they focused a lot of there editing on him and created a marmite character with people inside and outside of the house loving or hating him.
The general public consensus was somewhat mixed on Aaron, it was said that he was playing a game in the house, even his best friend confirmed this by saying that he used Faye as a porn in his game. This is when the general public seemingly started to turn against him. He was booed each time his name was read out and slated on many forums yet he still won. Now if Alex had of won would as many people be talking about big brother right now? the answer is NO. By Aaron winning it has provided controversy, which gets people talking, which in turn gets publicity, publicity means more people tune in next series to see what the fuss is about, this provides channel 5 with more lucrative revenue from advertising.
SO HAS THIS BEEN A STUNT FOR PUBLICITY?
A BETTING RING FIX?
OR SOMETHING MUCH MORE SCARY - THE PUBLIC LIKED HIM!!!
